speedikon Technology Days: Extensive AI enhancements and many innovations in detail

Simplified processes, extended standardizations, innovations in IT security management and extensive AI enhancements were the central topics of the first day of the speedikon Technology Days 2025.

New is the approach of introducing further standardizations. These focus on quick and easy access to common facilities management processes, are based on the requirements of the GEFMA 444 guideline, which describes the basic requirements for CAFM and IWMS software, and also go beyond this. They provide predefined roles and rights and optimized user administration. “This out-of-the-box solution covers 80 percent of the usual tasks, and individual configuration is of course possible,” says Adrian Merkel, CEO of the speedikon Group, emphasizing the value of the new features.

Another new feature is the ability to work with speedikon solutions in point clouds via a standard browser. This was demonstrated by one of the company’s customers, whose production site was shown live in the system from a bird’s eye view to a detailed view.

The latest version 2025.1 of the C-platform is even easier to use. Many ergonomic improvements, which recently passed the strict test of a major insurance company, contribute to this, reports Marcel Richter, Key Account Manager at speedikon.

The outlook for the upcoming software version 2025.2 presented new functionalities for DWG files and expanded working options with floor plans and floor plan groups.

Warranty management will get new automatisms that support the adherence to deadlines, the analysis and management of objects.

New cockpit start screens for special roles and management tasks can be preset in future. This means that users will only have access to the modules, views and analyses they need when they log in.

A presentation by Dr Alexandra Merkel, Head of Development at the speedikon Group, described realistic possibilities for the daily work of artificial intelligence (AI). Small applications that can be installed locally are an important key to obtaining robust and reliable results. Furthermore she recommends to host all data locally to ensure perfect protection and to prevent data loss.

Powerful applications are already available, particularly for text recognition in old planning documents or photo realistic digital twins, for example, she demonstrated using examples from completed projects. ‘AI helps to make analogue content computer-readable,’ she said, describing a sensible application scenario.

Day 2 of the Technology Days offered the more than 70 users on site the opportunity to exchange ideas in user groups and to learn more about AI in their everyday work in two in-depth workshops.

The next speedikon Technology Days will take place on 25th and 26th June 2026.
