Which challenges are organizations currently facing? Which topics are becoming more important? And where is Facility Management heading next?<\/p>\n<p>These questions shaped many of the conversations at this year&#8217;s CAFM Trade Fair in Fulda. Organized by the trade magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facility-manager.de\/\">Der Facility Manager<\/a>, the event took place on June 17 and 18 and brought together facility management professionals from across Germany. Over the course of two days, the speedikon FM Group exchanged ideas with customers, prospective clients, and industry experts about current developments and future requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Although every conversation was different, several recurring themes quickly became apparent.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>From First CAFM Systems to Modernization Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>One observation became clear very quickly: organizations are at very different stages of their digitalization journey.<\/p>\n<p>Some visitors explained that they were still searching for their first CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) solution and wanted to establish a structured digital foundation for managing buildings, technical assets, and maintenance processes.<\/p>\n<p>Many others, however, already had a CAFM system in place. Their challenge was a different one. In many cases, the software had been running for years without major updates and no longer met today&#8217;s requirements. As a result, migration became one of the most frequently discussed topics during the exhibition, particularly among universities and public institutions evaluating modern alternatives.<\/p>\n<p>For these organizations, the challenge is not simply replacing software. It is finding a solution that preserves valuable building and asset data while providing a platform that remains flexible and future-proof.<\/p>\n<p>For these organizations, replacing software is only part of the challenge. Years of building, asset, and maintenance data, together with configurations tailored to their processes, have become an integral part of day-to-day operations. The goal is therefore not simply to introduce a new system, but to modernize the existing software landscape without losing valuable information or disrupting established workflows.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>More Automation, Better Data, Smarter Decisions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The conversations also reflected changing expectations of CAFM systems.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors were increasingly looking for ways to automate routine processes, reduce manual data collection, and create a central overview of buildings, technical assets, and operational information.<\/p>\n<p>Energy management also featured prominently, with many organizations looking for better transparency into energy consumption and more efficient ways to analyze data across multiple buildings and sites. This is where the software developed by our group company WiriTec GmbH comes in. With <em>WiriTec\u00ae C<\/em>, energy data can be collected, validated, and analyzed automatically within a central platform, providing organizations with a reliable foundation for benchmarking, greater transparency, and better-informed energy management decisions.<\/p>\n<p>As the volume of available data continues to grow, artificial intelligence also attracted significant attention. Visitors showed particular interest in the AI solutions developed by our group company Innomatik AG.<\/p>\n<p>With the AI chatbot inno:docs, organizations can search their internal knowledge using natural language and receive reliable answers based on their own documents within seconds. Complementing this, inno:plan enables intelligent searches across technical drawings, making it much easier to navigate even extensive plan archives and quickly locate the information users need.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Why <em>speedikon\u00ae C<\/em> Stood Out<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>One topic generated particularly strong interest throughout the exhibition: updateability.<\/p>\n<p>Many visitors explained that their current CAFM solutions require customer-specific Many visitors explained that customer-specific configurations in their current CAFM systems have to be recreated after every software update. This adds implementation effort, increases costs, and extends project timelines. As a result, important updates are often postponed.<\/p>\n<p>With <em>speedikon\u00ae C<\/em>, customer-specific configurations remain fully intact after an update. Organizations can immediately benefit from new features without having to repurchase and reimplement their customizations every time a new version is released.<\/p>\n<p>Combined with open interfaces and the seamless integration of third-party systems, <em>speedikon\u00ae C<\/em> enables a more open and flexible software ecosystem. At the same time, existing investments in other software solutions remain protected, while organizations retain the flexibility to connect virtually any system to <em>speedikon\u00ae C<\/em> as their requirements evolve.<\/p>\n<p>The discussions in Fulda showed that the CAFM market continues to evolve. Today, organizations are looking for much more than digital documentation.
